To celebrate the 75th anniversary of luxury German automaker Porsche, Microsoft is giving away a limited edition Xbox Series X console and controller. This partnership brings new custom designs for the Xbox Series X, allowing gamers to showcase their love for Porsche while playing games on Microsoft’s console.
Microsoft released a limited edition special edition of the Xbox Series X in November 2021 to celebrate the release of Halo Infinite, and players could show their appreciation for the Master Sergeant’s adventures with a themed console and controller. Since then, the company has released a variety of new designs for Xbox controllers, often changing the default color to add camouflage or patterns to celebrate certain events like the Xbox’s 20th anniversary. Recent leaks have revealed that exclusive Xbox controllers for Starfield have been seen and should be announced at the Starfield Direct event, which will be held on June 11.
Xbox is collaborating to celebrate Porsche’s 75th anniversary with 75 limited edition Xbox Series X consoles inspired by six famous Porsche race cars. During the Summer Game Festival 2023 event, Xbox unveiled the first design for this collaboration. The Xbox Series X and its controller have a design inspired by a sports prototype car called the Porsche 963 that will compete in this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. These special consoles are not for sale, but those wishing to enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win these limited edition special themed consoles of Xbox Series X are welcome to apply.
To promote this partnership, Microsoft and Porsche have released a video highlighting some of the best sports cars from this luxury brand. The iconic designs of these sports cars influenced the colors and patterns of the limited edition special designs of Xbox Series X consoles and controllers. The console and controllers both feature the Porsche branding and a large 75 logo to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary.
This collaboration between Porsche and Microsoft isn’t the luxury car brand’s first attempt at the gaming market. Earlier this year, Porsche announced its own extremely expensive gaming chair inspired by sports car seats. The brand has also released a curved gaming monitor in collaboration with AOC, and gamers can regularly find Porsche cars in popular racing games like Need for Speed and Forza Horizon. Porsche and Microsoft have already run an online competition where race car players can apply to participate in a 24-hour race at Le Mans.
