The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) took action to solve the problems experienced in Fortnite, one of the most popular multiplayer games of recent days. FTC awarded a compensation of $245 million as a result of the lawsuit it filed against Epic Games.
According to the agreement, the application process has been initiated for the refund of unwanted purchases made by Fortnite players without their knowledge between January 2017 and September 2022. It was also stated that unwanted expenses made through child actors’ credit cards will be refunded.
Players who want to apply for a refund can visit www.ftc.gov/Fortnite and fill out the online application form. The deadline for application was announced as January 17, 2024.
FTC officials stated that, according to the information obtained, tens of thousands of players have applied so far. It was stated that in accepted applications, players will be refunded according to the amount of their expenses.
